Ben Rose

Ben Rose is a multi-hyphenate artist working in Film, Photography, and Theatre in Indianapolis, Atlanta, and Los Angeles over the last two decades.  Ben Rose’s on stage theatrical career started at the Phoenix Theater in a production of August Wilson’s Two Trains Running. Since then he has performed in 7 Rolling World Premieres and lead roles in Take Me Out, Top Dog Underdog, North Of The Boulevard, Clybourne Park, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and more.


In 2019 he began integrating his skills in the arts with community building while working for the Westside Community Development Corporation as a community health worker and communications director. Rose is a former founding board member of the Friends of Belmont Beach as well as Community Advocate for the B&O trail. His work in the Haughville Community has produced a documentary film entitled Haughville USA.


As a photographer and videographer Rose has worked as a content producer for not-for-profit organizations such as the Arts Council, Aspire Indiana Health, Simon Family Foundation, Big Car Collaborative, and Indiana Black Expo. In 2017 his screenplay Lion of Judah was an official selection in the Los Angeles International Screenplay Awards.


Currently the Founding Artistic Director of the Indianapolis Black Theater Company Rose aims to innovate and disrupt the traditional model of theater by leveraging digital media and residual based incomes for performing artists while also supporting and encouraging narratives centered around the Black American Experience.
